Clouds drift by

The light falls softly upon the surfaces. In the few rays of sunshine that fleetingly fall upon the floor, specks of dust drift silently downwards. The sounds of everyday life drift in through the small wooden window as if from a great distance.

Time seems to stand still – and yet it permeates everything in my grandparents’ attic, warmed by the summer heat.

The striped curtain made of heavy fabric.
The dried leaves, gradually crumbling into dust.
The leather jackets, carefully wrapped in plastic.
